Dear friends and supporters of the #RoofForAChild campaign,
On the last day of this year, we wanted to pen a quick note of gratitude, because with your help, many children' lives are being transformed - just because you took the step of faith & sacrifice to educate them.
It has been quite the journey with you all and most importantly, with God’s grace, having completed 5 years of successfully starting and running a campaign which has enabled us to complete 3 childrens’ homes, have 2 more progress and more homes in the pipeline.
2019 Updates
- The Selamba home (dedicated in memory of our friend Inbaraj) that was started in Dec 2018 was completed on time, and successfully dedicated in June 2019.
- The ‘Roof for a Child’ annual carnival was conducted in the spring, and it was a grand success!
- Construction has commenced and is in full swing in the Khandwa boys home - slated for completion by the school year 2020-21
- Jhawda girls home - functioning well, and they are now raising funds for their own school bus. (Currently, they use a leased vehicle)
- Nandurbar home - we are planning to start the 2nd floor construction soon, based on funds availabilty.
- For the first time, we participated in Facebook’s #GivingTuesday campaign where we raised about $10,000.
- Last but not the least, thrilled to announce that we participated and won the largest amount of votes among employees in the recently Xandr Cares $100k Challenge, and won a grant for $20,000! #xandrcares ( More details on this exciting news coming as a seperate post)
2020 - A sneak preview
- The 2020 ‘Roof for a Child’ carnival is going to be conducted on Saturday, April 25th, 2020
- Location: Brooks Crossing Elementary school, South Brunswick NJ (please note the change of location)
- larger auditorium & gym!
- Based on feedback, this is a more spacious hall with a lot more variety of culinary delights!
- We are going to have more games for kids and kids at heart - with escape rooms and more - More details coming!

- We plan to take the campaign nationwide in 2020 with smaller awareness events to be conducted in other cities in USA
- We take your trust in us seriously and plan to submit to the highest levels of financial accountability. We take pride in being a 100% volunteer based campaign with all expenses directly tied to capital or event based.
- We are working on becoming a member of the ECFA, and other watchdog organizations.
- This year, we are working on plans to re-build a school along with the children’s home (more details in a future post).

In closing, we wish to remind you that the campaign is just an extension of the desire that each of us have in educating children and transforming communities. We are just able to operate at this scale because we have come together for this purpose.
